The cryptocurrency market has slipped again, losing $2 billion over the past 24 hours. The industry’s total market cap yesterday was $223 billion but has since dropped to $221 billion as Bitcoin and others trade in the red.
For the third consecutive day, the trading volume has stagnated at $14 billion.
Bitcoin price analysis
The price of Bitcoin has dropped by less than 1% over the past 24 hours. BTC was trading at $6,616 yesterday but has now dropped to $6,571. There was no major catalyst for the drop as the market continues to record minor gains or losses.
The 24-hour trading volume of Bitcoin has also remained stagnant at $3.9 billion despite the slight drop in price.
Over the past five days, Bitcoin has been able to maintain its trading price. It was trading at $6,578 five days ago and has stayed that way though it experienced a high at $6,800 during the week.
Ethereum price analysis
ETH has lost some gains it has enjoyed over the last few days. Ethereum is down by less than 1% over the past few hours, dropping from $230 yesterday to now stand at $228.
ETH daily trading volume continues to drop, from $1.7 billion yesterday to now stand at $1.5 billion.
Ethereum is up 4.8% against the U.S. Dollar over the past few days. It was trading at $218 a few days ago but has since then surged to now trade at $228.
ETH is also up against BTC, gaining 3.5% over the leading cryptocurrency.
Ripple price analysis
The third largest cryptocurrency is down by 1% despite some fascinating revelations happening at the ongoing Ripple Swell event. XRP was trading at $0.57 yesterday but has now dropped to trade at $0.56.
The trading volume has dropped slightly, from the $1.2 billion recorded yesterday to now stand at $1.1 billion.
XRP is up 8.5% against the USD over the past few days. It was trading at $0.51 five days ago but has surged to now trade at $0.57.
XRP is also up against BTC, gaining 7% on Bitcoin over the past five days.
EOS price analysis
EOS has remained stable, falling by just 1 cent from yesterday’s $5.67 to now trade at $5.66.
Reports that Block.one, the parent company of EOS, has admitted that vote manipulation occurred and would work on rectifying the issue have not negatively impacted XRP price.
The daily trading volume has dropped by $200 million, from $802 million yesterday to now stand at $600 million.
Against the U.S. Dollar, EOS is up 1% over the past five days as it rose from $5.5 a few days ago to now trade at $5.6. It is however up 3.3% against Bitcoin during that timeframe.
Stellar Lumen price analysis
Stellar has followed the others in recording losses over the past 24 hours. XLM was trading at $0.26 yesterday but has lost 1.4% of its value over the past few hours to now trade at $0.25.
Daily trading volume has dropped from $67 million to now stand at $55 million.
XLM is up 4.3% against the U.S. Dollar over the past five days. It was trading at $0.24 five days ago but has now gone up to trade at $0.25. It is up nearly 4% against BTC during that timeframe.
Litecoin price analysis
Litecoin is still trading at $60 despite the general market recording losses over the past few hours. Just like the price, the trading volume has remained stable around $460 million over the past 24 hours.
Litecoin is up 4.4% against USD over the past few days. LTC was trading at $57 five days ago but experienced a rise that now sees it trading at $60.
LTC also up more than 3% against Bitcoin over the past few days.
